Looking for an Adult Camp

I'm looking for a stay-over summer or any time camp that's specifically designed for adults. I know there's one called VCB (Vacation Camp for the Blind) but it's rules are very strict and it seems to focus more on rehabilitation and independence with some fun along the way. I could be wrong so please correct me if so, but the rules part definitely is true. In any case, I'm seeking one that's more focussed on having fun, a get-away from the daily grind, in a relaxed atmosphere where people are free to be themselves. It doesn't necessarily have to be for the blind but I've never heard of a mainstream camp like this and those would probably cost tons of money. Anywhere in the country is fine if it's a week or more. If not, then it must be in New York or New Jersey. Btw, has anyone here ever gone to Camp Happiness? I heard about it but the information is very sparse. Thanks a million.

They have thousands of these, camps made for adults that are all about fun. They're called cruises.

Oh, this is perfect!

But I missed all the camps except the family one! Still, they have weekenders. They said they'll provide round-trip transportation to the area but something's telling me they only mean from other parts of Origan. Man this sounds amazing! ah well, next year or some weekend this one.

Beacon Lodge is a camp in Pennsylvania sponsored by the Lions Club. This might be a possibility

There is nothing wrong with going to an adult camp. I know quite a few adults that atend camps like that for varying disabilities. We have one for the blind, as well as one for Diabetes in our area. We do have more of those types of adult camps in this area, but i'm not sure about them. I could check into things for you and see if our camps here are nationwide or just for locals.

Thanks. I would sincerely appreciate that. I'm in NJ as I might have said. If you see any regular camps for adults let me know about those too. The only problem there is that many times they cater to particular interests and I'm not sure what modifications they'd be willing to offer.

Check out your local swingers convention, I'm sure they pitch tents.

you might want to think about the club med type resorts. they have all the fun aspects of camp and you don't have to live in the woods and swat bugs. ick.

What kind of modifications are you looking for? If you are blind, you could go to the blind camp. Please give me more information, and I will see what i can do.

lol Swinging. Where do you come up with these things? I don't mind being outdoors. Actually, that's one of the great things about camping and why I've always wanted to go. However, this resort thing could prove interesting. So long as I don't have to endure air conditioning I should be fine. Yes, I'm blind, with no other disabilities. I'm not sure what modifications I'd need, but an aid would probably be necessary if I was at a "regular" camp. Also, some of the activities there, like the sports, might be visual or need some kind of modifications. I'm willing to try almost anything, provided it's safe. Also, I'm a total, so couldn't use light or shaddows to guide me etc.

Well, then the blind camp would suit you well. I know it is already done for the summer, but I could check things out and give you information.
